Home Care Packages
What is a Home Care Package?
Home care Packages are provided by the government to older Australians with more complex care needs to assist them to access affordable help at home. These packages provide funding to allow you to access providers and supports you require.
Depending on your needs you will be assigned a package level which determines how much funding you can receive. There are 4 levels of Home Care Package cover:
The package level assigned to you is based on your needs.

| Level 1 | Basic care needs – $10,588.65 a year |
| Level 2 | Low care needs – $18,622.30 a year |
| Level 3 | Intermediate care needs – $40,529.60 a year |
| Level 4 | High care needs – $61,440.45 a year |
How can I get a Home Care Package?
Home Care Packages are available to older Australians who need coordinated supports to help them stay at home, and to younger Australians with dementia, disability or care needs not met through other specialist services.
You can apply for an assessment through the My Aged Care website. Or alternatively, feel free to contact our Home Care Package team to assist you through the process, using the contact information provided here.
I have a Home Care Package – What Happens Now?
Once you have Home Care Package funding you are free to choose a provider you like to deliver services outlined in your plan.
You then work with your chosen provider to identify your care needs and decide how best to spend your package funding. Your service provider coordinates your services and can manage them for you if you choose.
What Services can my Home Care Package get me?
Clients can pick and choose the services that suit them and fit within the package level they have been allocated. Home care package funds can be used for:

Personal Care
Food preparation & Meals
Nursing
Physio
Podiatry & Other therapies - Clients Home
Cleaning & Laundry
Gardening
Aids to stay independent
Home modifications - Outings/Getting out – Transport
Social outings
Medical appointments
Shopping - Temporary Help
Including assisting with Respite, after-hospital care
Transition Care Program
*Please note that Home Care Package funding cannot be used for Transitional Care*
